Probate Court Resource Center
The Cuyahoga County Probate Court offers a Resource Center for self-represented parties. The purpose of this service is not to offer legal advice. The Resource Center is available to assist you with questions about a simple estate, guardianship or name change. This includes the general review of all Probate forms and procedures. The Resource Center cannot address complicated estates or guardianships, trusts, adoption proceedings, exceptions, contested or adversarial cases and cannot assist in drafting a Last Will and Testament. A referral would be made to the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association to obtain the name of a probate attorney.
The Resource Center is staffed by a licensed attorney. The Resource Center is open Monday through Thursday from 9:30 A.M. to 3 P.M.

All parties are limited to one visit per case.
Please read the following criteria carefully before scheduling your appointment:
- This is a ONE TIME appointment only, case specific.
- You must be the person filling out and filing the paperwork.
- You must be appearing or filing without a licensed attorney
- You cannot be an attorney
- The Resource Center cannot address complicated estates or guardianships, trusts, adoption proceedings, exceptions, contested or adversarial cases and cannot assist in drafting a Last Will and Testament.
- The Resource Center cannot fill out a fiduciary account for you
- Please provide a description of what you need assistance with
Appointments by phone are only available on certain days. If you schedule a phone appointment on a day that is not available, your appointment may be cancelled.
